Workshop 6 – Call My Bluff

Museums across the world are full of artefacts from archaeological investigations, items created, crafted, chosen and used by humans in the past. Unless they can visit a site, artefacts are the closest most people get to these lives.

Call my Bluff is a fun way to explore how we reconstruct the stories of these artefacts, and to learn the critical importance of context – knowing where something comes from – for doing this.

It involves learners in a version of an old TV game show, honing critical thinking skills by trying to identify true from false in archaeological interpretations, and in writing new interpretations – for bluff, and for real case studies!
