Today, people’s top three priorities when choosing a home are ‘Location Location Location’ – this workshop explores the importance of location in the past, when it really could be a matter of life or death. Students will trace change in one location over thousands of years, apply what they learn to siting a new settlement on a real deserted island – and then play archaeological battleships to explore the consequences of their decisions, before comparing their decisions to the archaeological evidence from icy island worlds. It’s a fun way to learn about change, continuity and the importance of location, while also developing skills in looking, logic, planning and using maps.
